Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Boss Your Data ("BYD", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the BYD Chrome extension, the BYD iPhone app, the BYD Android app, and bossyourdata.com (together, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. The Services

Boss Your Data is a pharmaceutical market-intelligence platform: a curated life-science news feed with AI-written briefings, company and substance dashboards, pipeline and asset search, and "Ask BYD", an AI assistant that answers questions from the BYD database.

• Free tier — the news and insights feed, available to any registered user at no charge.
• BYD Pro — dashboards, search and Ask BYD. Pro access is arranged directly with us (for example after a demo request). The Chrome extension contains no in-app purchases; any commercial terms for Pro are agreed separately in writing and sit alongside these terms.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old. The Services are a professional tool intended for business use.
• Provide accurate account details and keep them up to date.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
• Accounts are personal and may not be shared. You may delete your account at any time from within the product (sign-out menu → "Delete account"); deletion is immediate and permanent.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the Services, or use robots or automated scripts to access them;
• resell, redistribute, sublicense or make the Services or their data available to third parties, or use them to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model;
• share account credentials, or circumvent (or attempt to circumvent) authentication, access tiers, usage limits or other technical controls;
• probe, disrupt or overload our infrastructure, or introduce malicious code;
• use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of applicable export, sanctions or data-protection law;
• exceed fair use of AI features. Ask BYD is subject to daily usage limits, which we may adjust to keep the Service reliable for everyone.

4. Content and intellectual property

• The Services — including our software, design, branding, database structure, dashboards and AI briefings — are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for your internal business purposes while you hold an account.
• News headlines and stories surfaced in the feed belong to their publishers. BYD aggregates, summarises and links to the original sources; nothing in these terms gives you rights over third-party content.
• If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or payment.

5. AI-generated content

Briefings and Ask BYD answers are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and the same question may produce different answers. Always verify AI output against primary sources before relying on it or sharing it. AI output is provided for general information only.

6. No professional advice

The Services provide market intelligence for general information. Nothing in the Services — including news, dashboards, search results and AI answers — constitutes medical, clinical, regulatory, legal, financial or investment advice, and you must not rely on it as such. Decisions about medicines, trials, regulatory strategy or investments must be made with appropriately qualified professionals.

7. Your data

How we collect and use personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Availability and changes

We are improving the Services continually and they may change over time. We may add, alter or withdraw features, and we do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. We may suspend the Services for maintenance, security or operational reasons.

9. Disclaimers and liability

• The Services and all data in them are provided "as is" and "as available". Market-intelligence data is assembled from many public sources and, while we work to keep it accurate and current, we do not warrant its accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
• Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity or data, and our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) £100.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access (with notice where practicable) if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. Sections 4, 5, 6, 9 and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update this page, revise the effective date above, and highlight significant changes within the product. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere you keep any mandatory protections and forum rights of your home country.
